BACKGROUND
The city of El Alto is a relatively new urban center. Many farmers, artisans, miners, and people from other cities migrated to this region. It has over a million inhabitants, and most families are of limited economic means.
We made contact with an evangelism team that supports children from churches located in the city’s outskirts, providing them with food and tutoring. For this reason, we decided to gather 180 children from three churches for two weeks of tutoring. At the end of the period, we will give them Bibles and school backpacks as an incentive for their efforts.
These materials were acquired thanks to the support of Pastor Carlos Montaño and Pastor Butch Guidri. We were also able to purchase the Bibles at a discount from the Bible Society.
OBJECTIVE
To promote education and Christian principles in children at social risk by providing Bibles and school backpacks in the peripheral areas of the city of El Alto.
ACTIVITY PERFORMED
For two weeks, children from various outlying areas of El Alto attended remedial classes in mathematics, language, and Christian values.
Dozens of children attended their remedial classes and also participated in Christian values lessons and attended church every Sunday. As a reward for their efforts, a closing ceremony was held on the last day, where each child received a beautiful Bible and a school backpack containing:
– Notebooks
– Folder
– Pens
– Pencils
– Sharpener and eraser
– Ruler
– Box of colored pencils
– A toy
More than 180 children benefited from these supplies, and the churches that received them were: King of Glory Church (Villa Ingavi area), Redeemed by God Church (Bajo Ballivian area), and Ebenezer Church (Senkata area).
The pastors and parents expressed their gratitude for this support and pledged to continue providing spiritual guidance to the children.
GRATITUDE
Thanks to God for allowing us to serve Him daily. Thank you for the support of Pastor Butch Guidri, Pastor Carlos Montaño, and all the volunteers who sustain this ministry with their donations, prayers, and service.
God bless you.
