BACKGROUND

For over two years, the roads leading to Muñecas Province in the
Department of La Paz have been impassable due to constant rains and
a lack of government road maintenance. Consequently, reaching the
Pauje Yuyo community—located a nine-hour journey from the city of La Paz—is
extremely difficult; in some instances, the trip can take up to three days. This community is situated in a remote valley in the northern part of the
La Paz department; its inhabitants subsist on livestock farming and the cultivation
of root crops. There is a local church that the missions ministry supports on
an occasional basis. On this occasion, we planned to conduct an activity with local
children and to visit and train pastors at a leadership conference aimed at spiritually
strengthening the church.

OBJECTIVE

To train pastors and leaders from Pauje Yuyo and conduct an evangelism
activity for local children.

ACTIVITY CARRIED OUT

A group of volunteers set out for Pauje Yuyo in the morning. 
We traveled for seven hours, encountering roads thick with mud due to the constant rain; 
we were forced to spend the night along the way, finally managing to arrive the following 
day with great difficulty.We spent the entire day meeting with pastors and leaders 
for training sessions, though many were unable to attend due to the poor road conditions. 
We also gathered 69 children for an evangelism service and provided them with two days of discipleship. 
The missions ministry successfully secured Bibles and biblical materials for the children, 
as well as missionary Bibles for the pastors. They were days of blessing despite the difficulties,
 as we achieved our goal of encouraging the church and strengthening the pastors.
We pray that in the coming months the government will help repair the roads, 
making access to these areas easier.
