BACKGROUND
The Simba Guarani are an indigenous group living in the Santa Cruz region, in remote communities, most of them located along riverbanks where they work in the fish trade.
Many have abandoned their lands due to poverty and lack of opportunities, as well as river pollution caused by mercury use by illegal mining companies that are prevalent in the region.
There is no established church, but there are groups of Christian families who meet occasionally to worship the Lord, and on this occasion, we were able to evangelize and provide Bibles to the members of this ethnic group.
OBJECTIVE
Evangelizing and distributing Bibles to the inhabitants of the Simba Guarani indigenous group in the Santa Cruz region, Bolivia.
ACTIVITY PERFORMED
A group of volunteers traveled by road for approximately 13 hours to the border of the Santa Cruz region. From there, we took another car and traveled for two hours to reach the Simba Guarani village.
For a day, we evangelized in the homes of the villagers. Each hut is quite far from the others, so we had to hire a local resident to translate for us in their native language in order to share the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Due to the distance and the heat, we were able to visit approximately 38 homes, where many people embraced the gospel and received a copy of a missionary Bible, as well as food supplies.
The local believers were grateful for the outreach, and we hope this will help many more people believe in the gospel and that the seed will bear much fruit in the future.
GRATITUDE
We thank the volunteers and sponsors of this ministry, and we give thanks to God for people like Carlos Montaño and Butch Guidri who selflessly support missionary work in Bolivia.
May the Lord always be glorified!
