BOLIVIA: 2024 report and 2025 projects

(La Paz, Cochabamba, Potosí)

Thanks to the support from all of you, friends and family, in 2024 we were able to help with funds for every project we had planned. Last winter my son Charly and I made the trip, and this year my wife Lorena and I will spend three weeks traveling within the country to take care of and coordinate the projects in this report.

Bolivia continues suffering deep economic problems and political/social unrest. Unfortunately, poor people in rural communities suffer the consequences the most. We are glad to help to the extent that we are able.

PROJECT 1: Asociación Pan De Vida (Bread Of Life Association), La Paz.

During 2024, around 800 students from eight different schools of Aymara indian villages in the Andes Mountains received school supplies and a toy. At the same time their families received a little help in food donations. In February and March 2025 again we will provide supplies for some 750 students in 6 indian communities: Chullina, Chajaya, Charazani, Huaratumo, Curva and Coriza. Also, in 2024 we gave hygiene items at the women’s detention center in La Paz (Centro de Orientación Femenina Obrajes) to around 200 women and 25 children that live
with their mothers there. We’ll do this project again this coming February 2025. Bread of Life is an allvolunteer small organization directed by Mr. Fernando Palomeque, and we are very thankful to them for helping us coordinate and carry out these humanitarian projects.

PROJECT 2:: Elliijjo La Viida ((II Choosse Liiffe)),, Cochabamba

Dr. Marylin Fernandez and a small group of volunteers run this small organization in the city of Cochabamba providing medical assistance, counseling, job training, job placement, and moral support to single mothers, battered women and families with children who are battling cancer. Every December we help with funds to give each family under this organization’s care a “Canaston de Navidad” (Christmas Basket, a Bolivian tradition to give a container with food and household items). We also helped buy two hospital style patient beds to lend to children with cancer who sleep on the floor in lack of a bed. This year we will continue helping this small ministry that provides assistance and hope to many families
